Over time, the entire center of the trunk naturally rotted away, leaving behind a striking ring of beautiful apple wood that forms the core of this piece. Adding to its natural charm are rounds made from loblolly pine branches, carefully collected from the forests of North Carolina. The loblolly pine, known for its fast growth and graceful, feathery needles, brings a fresh, textured contrast to the warm apple wood, creating a harmonious blend of materials sourced from the southeastern United States.
